I was wondering if anyone else has dental issues since having RA? My teeth have fallen out some broke into pieces. Dental work is very expensive I'm on a waiting list for my work to be done

Dental problems are part of RA. Two years after aquiring RA ,my teeth just started breaking off. Loss of vision & hearing are also part of RA.

Hi, yes I've lost many teeth but due to sjogrens. You might want to ask youR rheumy to test you for SJOGRENS.

I think the dental issue is due more to the medications that we take not the disease itself.

I've recently had a couple tiny pieces of teeth come off of 2 teeth!! Supposedly it could be the steroids, or SS. My eyes have been driving me nuts, so I'm seeing an opthamologist next week to test for dry eye. I have the antibody for Mixed Conective Tissue Disorder, as well as RA. I guess having Sjogens too would explain a lot.

Dental problems are a big concern with Sjogren's Syndrome and that often goes hand in hand with RA. SS also causes dry eyes (and mouth) but I don't know about vision loss or hearing. I'm pretty sure I have SS as well as RA, although my rheumatologist doesn't agree with me - yet! Hope this helps. Hang in there.
