My big toe is not red or hot to touch. Its alittle painful with walking but severe pain is when it touches anything. Sleeping at night i cant let sheet or blanket touch the joint esp the inner side. Been told by ortho i need toe fused because of deformity but its been mainly the larger joint. This joint pain is new.
Hi, Everyone! Yes - I have had both big toes fused and all of my small toes have been 'pinned,' (after their respective 'knuckles' have been removed). Having your Big Toe fused is a great idea. It stops pain completely as the physician will also straighten your toe(s). Unfortunately, it will take several weeks to recuperate, but, in the end - you'll feel remarkably better and you can focus on the next joint replacement! Hang in there!
Best Wishes everyone. I have such sever Knee ache, it's so depressing. Walking is a mission, driving is a mission. I tried a paste of garlic and ginger mixed with course salt (read on facebook for joint pain). Day one was wonderful. Day two was disastorus I had second degree burns on my knee.
The burns have healed, the pain hasn't gone away and I find that it goes all the way down my leg to my small toe.
Exercise they say. So I am trying the HasFit exercise programme for seniors and people with mobility issues. You can do it seated. It's ok at least gets one moving.
Take care everyone.
Yes and where the thumb meets the hands is very painful too
I had the joint replaced 28 years ago and it was great til recently when they had to take it out and fuse the toe. 28 years is pretty good, though!😁
Not gout doc said just damage of joint. As joint damage progresses it can cause severe pain. Toe starting to feel a lil better.
