Yes, there is synovial fluid around the tendons and in the joints. The RA inflames the synovial fluid wherever it is (synovitis). I have tendonitis in several places. It is slowly improving now that I am in remission.
Hi, For me weather is definitely a trigger, although I have pain and swelling all of the time. I am a writer also, so spending a lot of time on the computer can really make me sore. I do not want to give up computer work, and writing because it is a great way to help me concentrate on my craft rather than the disease. I have found in addition to my regular medications, I use compression gloves and a wrist support. Get a flexible wrist support for typing and compression gloves that have a large enough opening at the fingers. I also have a more stiff wrist support (the kind for carpel tunnel) that can be used during the time you are off the computer or at night. I got used to sleeping with it on, because I had less pain in the morning when I woke up. I have RA in all of my joints, it used to be come and go symptoms, now its all the time, been this way for the last 2 years.
Yep, in my feet. But mine was brought on by the antibiotic Cipro. That class of antibiotic is know to damage tendons. Hope you feel better.
Thanks! That makes sense!
Thanks @A myRAteam Member. My RA is in very random joints and not consistent. But boy do I get tendonitis in my elbows and other spots.
