Here is a link to the CBD product I am using. I noticed that it can be ordered through this company at the same price I paid in the store.

I recently started taking Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN). At higher doses it is used as an opiate inhibitor and was used to help people get off of opiates. The FDA approved the Low Dose Naltrexone for autoimmune disorders. What I like is that side effects are minimal, and usually associated with adjusting to it. Here is a link to a site: http://www.lowdosenaltrexone.org/ You will find a link to the Yahoo LDN group on the front page. ly
I also take Boron - 42 mgs a day (I ordered Swanson's Boron from Amazon - each pill is 6 mgs. They recommend to start with 30 - 40 Mgs. I have noticed a lot of pain relief since starting it.
I also get Ozone treatments. It's kind of hard to find doctors that work with the Ozone. Integrative Medical Doctors usually have it available, or a Functional Medical Doctor. It is a strong anti-inflammatory treatment, and also resets your immune system.
I also take Turmeric (get the kind mixed with black pepper extract). Turmeric has a stronger effect if you take fish oil at the same time you take the Turmeric.
I also take Ginger.
I'm going to add you to my team. I'm connecting with other people who are going down the more natural route.
I use CBD oil. It was first recommended to my by my regular doctor. At the time I lived in Washington State and medical marijuana was legal. However, at the time the CBD oils were being made from marijuana, so it would get you high, which is fine sometimes. Regardless, yes it is helpful. Some more than others.
I now live in Idaho, and nothing marijuana is legal here. I did find CBD oil that is made from Hemp. I order it from Ancient Life Oil, and I have to tell you it is the first CBD oil that is really effective for me. I am able to take higher doses and it does relieve the pain and you don't get stoned.
On another note, when I was first diagnosed with RA I went to a Rheumatologist and started down the path of pharmaceuticals. Nothing really worked for me. I ended up on biologicals for a few years, the last one being Remicade. It seemed like they would work for a while, and then not so much, so my Rheumy would switch it up. After a few years on the stuff I had a bad reaction. My immune system had really been damaged and I got seriously ill with some lung issues. Fortunately, I was able to get the problem resolved, and I have not used any pharmaceuticals since that time. I have found a lot of 'alternative' approaches that are far less damaging to my body, and I have been able to manage the RA that way. Yes, I still get flares, but I also have a variety of tools to use to make it more tolerable.
I'm not saying that your husband should stop taking his meds, but I am suggesting that he may want to start looking into some alternatives that might work better for him.
I am on sulfasalazine and occasionally take naproxen. I was in so much pain recently despite being on heavy pain meds and just injecting stelara. I tried 1200 mg Cbd oil (about one full dropper dispensed under my tounge throughout the day) and my swelling is lower than I have seen it in my life. I’ve had ra since I was four so I have a lot of joint damage. The Cbd oil seems to be treating the inflammation well which is the cause of the pain.
@A myRAteam Member I just saw your question about the black pepper. Yes, pepper is listed as an inflammatory, However, just to complicate matters, Black Pepper, and White Pepper are not. My doctor (who is a Functional Medicine Practitioner) explained it to me. So I have been using Black Pepper to spice up my food a bit. But all other peppers are off the plate.
I use Extra Strength Arnica Peppermint Junioer Cannabis Cream on my thumbs and areas where I have pain and it works very well and fast for me.
