The other thing I have found that help me too. Was taking vitamin E everyday, you'll see a big difference in about 3 to 4 weeks along with a moisturizer. I found after taking the vitamin E I didn't need to use the moisturizer quite as offen.
I did go to the dermatologist and found out something interesting. After looking at my skin, she said she thinks it is Brachioradial Pruritus. She showed me a picture of it and sure enough it looks exactly like what I have. She said she has seen it in people with or without ra. It is a nerve condition. Sometimes the nerve endings in the neck are getting squeezed because of the narrowing. She sent a note to my rheumatologist suggesting an x-ray to see if this is what’s going on. In the meantime she gave me a recipe of ingredients to mix. I have tried it and sure enough, it has calmed things down. One of the ingredients is a steroid, so a prescription is needed. No one else has been able to give me an answer so I am very grateful to her. I see my rheumatologist next week, so I will discuss it with her then.
Yes! I have very dry itchy skin. I also have plaque Psoriasis. Just use a good moisturizer daily. I also use a moisturizing body wash rather than soap.Wish I could sit down into a tub of water infused with a good body oil but I can't. I would never be able to get up and out of the tub. Good luck!
Gold Bond diabetics dry skin relief lotion works great for me on my dry skin. Even if your not diabetic I use it every night before bed.
Coconut oil works wonders. take internally, too. I slather myself up some nights; coconut oil in hair and on face. by morning everything feels nice and moisturized and coconut oil doesn't leave oily marks on pillow like some other oils do.
