Is there any medication to help with fatigue?

I need help with this constant fatigue. I can't get enough sleep no matter how many hours I rest. I sleep at work and have fallen asleep driving several times. Is there anything that would help? I exercise and drink water and all that jazz.

I've had RA 34 years. Fatigue is part of disease. This past year I've used a tea of fresh Turemic and Ginger with pepper and drink it daily in morning. Really helps inflammation. Dr Weil Holistic Doctor from AZ recommends this in his website. I'm also using CBD Hemp Oil non THC for RA both oils and ointment I buy from Trew Balance along with vitamins and a herb Horsetail. Much better then drugs😃 I also do Xeljan XR every other day. Feel better😃

Nuvigil (armodafinil) 250 mg once a day--wonder drug! Main indication is for narcolepsy and it is crazy expensive even if generic. It is much easier to take, less side effects than the stimulants used for ADHD like Adderall and Vyvanse. Even when my biologics were working the fatigue was awful. Seriously this med gave me a life and helped me keep working as long as I could. Sadly the cost can be prohibitive if insurance not helping--cash pay for 30 pills $566.

I struggle with fatigue as well, so take a short nap for a half hour (not long enough to get stiff as a board again), then get up and have a cup of green tea with a smidge of honey. I also do gentle yoga stretches that help throughout the day. A gentle beginner's vinyasa flow yoga class twice a week helps a lot and so does swimming in the warmer months. The struggle is a real one that people who don't have it do not understand. I get it. Hugs to you honey.

In some ways for me, the fatigue is more debilitating than the pain. However, I just discovered something interesting; taking #melatonin and a pain reliever before bed actually helps feel more rested!! Normally it doesn’t matter how long I sleep; I still wake up drained. Now however I feel less tired when I wake up and more functional during the day. The reason I thought of it is that I discovered that I rarely hit REM or deep sleep and searched for ways to remedy that. I found studies that supports that melanin help reach REM so I tried it and am happy with the results! Taking a pain reliever with it makes me toss and turn less due to pain at night. 🙂

There are meds that can help yes. Have your Doctor check you for any deficiencies and if that is negative, there are actually meds that can "wake you up". For instance, while I was on the mxt my Doctor gave me Vyvanse (which is for ADHD) to help me. Has the opposite affect on those without ADHD. Or you could have anemia, or low Vit B-12, etc. Good luck.
