I noticed about 2 or 3 months ago that I couldn't hear things as well as I used to. My family noticed as well. I had a hearing test done & I have moderate hearing loss in both ears. I am only 42. The ENT doc really didn't give me an answer to why I have the loss, but I've read that RA & Fibro both can cause hearing loss. Just wondering if anybody out there has experienced this also.

I suffered hearing loss not long after getting RA. I also started having dry eyes & vision loss. I was diagnosed with cataracts.
Yes. It kind of comes and goes. RA can affect it as well-- since we have little bones in our ears.
I have both hearing and vision loss since my DX in 2007. I've read about vision loss, but so far haven't found anything relating to hearing loss. Both my parents also had hearing loss, so I assumed it was hereditary.
Thank you Beth! Sorry to learn about your hearing loss. I would definitely look it up & bring it up to your rheumatologist. This is all new to me so I'm trying to adjust & hoping it does not become severe. Thanks so much for your reply! ๐
