I was diagnosed with RA 2 years ago. I'm stiff in the morning for a few hours. Meds and stretches help to get me moving. But I have other pain that doesn't go away. I feel bruised but don't have a mark on me. My legs feel like they are filed with cement and they ache. Noises bother my ears. And I have tingling in my feet and toes. Anyone experience any of this on top of their normal RA aches and pains?

Members with both RA and fibromyalgia connected over the question of what fibromyalgia feels like on top of rheumatoid arthritis pain, describing it as an all-over bruised feeling, cement-heavy legs, nerve tingling, sound sensitivity, and relentless fatigue that differs from typical joint pain. Several members shared medications that have helped them manage these overlapping symptoms, including Gabapentin for nerve pain, Savella and Lyrica for fibromyalgia, amitriptyline for all-over pain, and Actemra for stiffness, though many noted side effects like weight gain and depression. A recurring theme was frustration with doctors who dismiss muscle pain as unrelated to RA or fail to recognize the unpredictable, individualized nature of autoimmune disease, with members encouraging each other to advocate for symptom relief rather than accepting dismissive responses.

Yes all the above and i explain it as if u went to the gym and u have not been there in many years ....... and you go full out and the next day u feel your muscles hurt so bad that u can hardly move .....? But we dont have to do the workout ours do it them selves and hurt like hell.

I mentioned this exact muscle pain symptom to my rheumy & he shot me down immediately saying RA doesn't affect muscles it attacks joints only lol that's a lie it attacks much more than joints I wanted to throat punch him but my muscles hurt too bad & there was an intern in the room so I just did the normal nod & agree bullshit
