I had 2 infusions a couple of years ago. The drug was called Rituximab. It really helped my pain for a long time and I read it is also a cancer drug(chemo).

found out myself that takes about 3 months after stopping medication, for the pain to come back. talk to your pharmacy to give you something for the pain.

Wow Erica and Veronica I'm so so sorry you are going through cancer treatment as well as having RA!! How cruel to have to endure both. Erica I would suggest getting in touch with your rheumatologist. I know it is so bad in the hospital system and doctors never seem to communicate between disciplines! They palm it off to each other as often cases like yours are a bit tricky or they simply don't know!! I hope you find an answer soon. Hey Sweetie. I'm in the same boat treading water they have me on cancer drugs once cancer is taken care of they said I'll be able to return to RA treatment but they have uped my pain Meds to 4 x daily which helps with RA my heartfelt wishes for you to recover

I use Voltaren (diclofenec) gel on my hands and feet daily. Even all of the RA drugs I'm on still don't do the trick most days, but the Voltaren (diclofenec) gel really helps! It's a topical nsaid. I also take the internal med diclofenec. In my opinion, you should get ahold of your rheumy. I would think he or she could come see you in hospital, and have a three way consult with your other two doctors!! Sounds important to me! Best of luck and hope the healing begins!
