Members connected over the sharp, debilitating pain of rheumatoid arthritis affecting the jaw, with many describing how it feels similar to TMJ, sometimes causing the jaw to lock or dislocate when yawning or eating. Several members shared what has helped them find relief, including switching from Arava to Humira injections, applying a homemade blend of lavender, frankincense, and peppermint essential oils mixed with coconut oil, and simply resting the jaw during flares by avoiding talking or chewing. A recurring theme was the challenge of explaining this kind of pain to family members who don't fully understand the condition, and the deep gratitude for having a community where these struggles are truly seen and validated.

Yes! Several times! Felt like TMJ...so, so painful. So much inflammation my lower jaw shifted so my bite was uneven and could barely open my mouth. I Googled essential oils for TMJ. Lavender, Frankincense, Peppermint mixed with coconut oil. Mixed it and applied several times thru the night and next morning still sore but inflammation was gone. This method has worked every time for me. Hope it helps you too!
