Has Anyone Had Foot Fusion Surgery And Did It Work?

Has Anyone Had Foot Fusion Surgery And Did It Work?

Surgeon recommends mid foot fusion surgery for severe pain due to arthritis and inflammation. I am a nurse who works 2 jobs and cannot take a few months off. Going to try to hold out as long as possible.

Put it off as long as you can! I had foot surgery for a hammer toe on 10/31/2013. I ended up having 3 additional surgeries because my foot just refused to fuse. This was prior to RA diagnosis but my feet were extra bad from OA and doing 12° nursing shifts at level 1 trauma center, never sitting down. But loved it. Now its gone. At 48 I'm disabled and because of the nerves being cut so many times in right foot I dont have complete feeling in it so I cannot drive. Lost all friends because of leaving job, became out of touch. Family 600mi cause I moved for my career. I'm socially isolated to the point of honestly questioning my own sanity.

So please, put surgery off as long as possible.
Good luck!
