I was diagnosed with RA a year ago. My flares last for months. I am on Prednisone 5mg, 9 Methotrexate and finally I started Enbrel injections last October. I don't know about the cherry juice but the enbrel saved my life. I couldn't exist without it. At the time I was diagnosed with my RA I had my last child. I couldn't even change his diaper the pain was so bad. I lived like that for 3 years because I was nursing. When I started to get degeneration in my neck my rheumatologist insisted I try enbrel because he was scared I could wind up in a wheelchair. Within 2 weeks of the first injection my life completely turned around. Don't get me wrong, I still have pain, and I just had 2 surgeries but I have had RA for 30 years now. I definitely think the enbrel saved me.
I have been drinking "tart" cherry juice the past several days and though my symptoms aren't severe, I do notice a little relief.
cherry juice is supposed to be very good for joint pain
YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!!!
Enbrel has helped, but of course I am not pain free. However, I am able to deal with the pain I have. I just thank God it works. You don't have a choice with this disease. You take the meds with a risk of horrible side effects just to be able to live a somewhat normal life. I feel it's all about my quality of life.
