Members who have both RA and Sjogren's Syndrome connected over shared struggles with dry eyes, dry mouth, nose and mouth sores, and overwhelming fatigue, with many also managing additional conditions like fibromyalgia, lupus, and thyroid issues. Several members shared practical strategies that help them cope, including sugar-free mints and cough drops, Systane or Oasis tear drops, saline nasal sprays, coconut oil for dryness, dietary changes like cutting sugar and dairy, and medications like Plaquenil and Leflunomide. A recurring theme was the complexity and expense of managing overlapping autoimmune diseases, with members encouraging each other to advocate with doctors, seek resources from the Sjogren's Foundation, and stay positive despite the daily challenges.

I have RA, developed Fibromyalgia, Raynauds and Sjogrens. The Sjogrens is dreadful. I try to control it by adjusting my diet, sugarfree, very low caffeine and very low gluten, no dairy as I found these things aggravate the Sjogrens in particular. I also have eye drops with me at all times, use saline spray for nose and coconut oil for vaginal lubrication. I struggle with the fatigue. I also get nose and mouth sores.
