Members shared a wide variety of home remedies for nighttime leg and foot cramps, with the most frequently mentioned solutions being tonic water for its quinine content, yellow mustard (which many confirmed works within about ten minutes), and magnesium supplements or magnesium-potassium combinations to address potential deficiencies. Several members offered additional practical tips, including drinking plenty of water throughout the day, applying heat to the calves before bed, trying pickle juice or salted water, and one unusual but reportedly effective trick of placing an unwrapped bar of soap in the bed. A recurring theme was the importance of ruling out electrolyte imbalances through bloodwork and recognizing that many unexpected symptoms can accompany rheumatoid arthritis, prompting some members to advocate for renaming the condition to better reflect its autoimmune nature and reduce misunderstanding.

Maybe we need to change the way we label our disease, e.g. rheumatoid disease or auto ammune illness or auto ammune disease. The word arthritis is just too general as a name, any other ideas that would change the way people minimize our suffering?๐Ÿž

lack of potassium and other electrolytes can cause severe cramps. I would suggest bloodwork first, rule it out. Heat to the calves before bed may help. Something you are doing is irritating those muscles causing inflammation and decreased circulation.
