I have suddenly started having hot flashes, sweats, then freezing cold. Then the whole process starts over it is bad enough I take my temp but there is no fever. I am not on any RA meds as yet. And I have not been on any hormone therapy. Have already gone completely through menopause and don't have flashes from that anymore. I go and see the Rheumy on Sept 21. Does anyone else have this issue. Thanks in advance for your answers.

I also get periods of extreme sweating. All my clothes actually get wet. It happens several times a day. It makes me very weak when it happens. I have to re group before I continue to do anything. So many different symptoms. God bless us.
Yes, I had hot flashes .... many in a day until I began methotrexate. The hot flashes are no more.
Iam 69 and I suffer from these strange hot flushes( that's what we call them in South Africa) mine I think are related to my prednisone which also gives you rosy cheeks and a puffy face
I experience hot flashes all throughout the day as well. From hot to cold with chills then hot again.
I was just diagnosed with RA 1 month ago & only started methotrexate last week. I was having hot flashes like crazy for the last 9 months or so, mostly at night but not always. I had just assumed it was menopause, because I'm in the process. However, I took a steroid dose pack for potential inflammation related to shoulder & knee pain and the hot flashes stopped completely! I am thoroughly convinced the inflammation was the cause of the hot flashes. My knee pain has slowly been coming back each week, and I had one mild hot flash a few days ago as a result. I had no signs of fever and have never been on HRT. Hope this helps!
