My legs sometime will ache so bad from hips to feet. Heat feels good & massaging my legs help. At same time my bum aches also. It is just too large an area for a heating pad. I am thinking of an electric blanket.

Members confirmed that achy legs from hip to ankles can indeed occur with rheumatoid arthritis, though several noted it could also be fibromyalgia or sciatica, with one member describing flare-related muscle soreness that feels like running a marathon after minimal activity. The overwhelming favorite solution was electric blankets or heated mattress pads, with members sharing creative strategies like layering heated throws from lower back to feet, using twin-size heated mattress covers on couches, and soaking in Epsom salt baths for 40 minutes. A recurring theme was the importance of gentle movement, heat therapy, and not overdoing exercise, with additional suggestions including acupuncture, magnesium supplements, and laser therapy for inflammation.

My electric blanket is my best friend! I have several of the throws and when I am achy (daily...) I turn it on and sit on top of it. It is like a heating pad from the lower back all the way to my feet which is lovely. On really bad days, I sit on one and under another one. Ahhhhh....bliss!! Lol. Waiting on a bathroom remodel so that I can finally soak in a tub. Supposed to start next week!
