I have never heard of this. I took methotrexate for about 2years. However i have been to the dentist recently and he did not mention any problem with my gums.

I had to have gum surgery on upper both sides about 5 years ago. Now the orthodontist says I need it done again on my upper right side. I try to take good care of my teeth. It didn't dawn on me that the methotrexate and placquenil could be the cause of it. Thanks. for sharing.

I have receding gums on my bottom front teeth but my dentist said its from brushing my gums & pushing too hard. I know mouth sores can be a side effect with some drugs but I haven't heard of receding gums being a side effect.
