Do anyone of you suffer with body temperature changes from hot to cold with in seconds and sometimes I feel very crappy and running a fever and its usually within 3days of my injections of Embrel, and Methrotrexate. I usually get diarhea three days and have associated it too the Methrotrexate. Please advise with any ideas. Thank you.

Members widely validated the experience of extreme temperature fluctuations, with many describing sudden shifts from hot to cold that occur with RA, fibromyalgia, and medications like methotrexate and biologics, though some experienced these symptoms even before starting treatment. Several members shared practical strategies including taking daily probiotics to manage methotrexate-related diarrhea, using Estroven for hot flashes, increasing water intake after methotrexate to flush the system, and switching from pain patches to oral medications when sweating became unbearable. A recurring theme was the frustration of receiving vague answers from doctors who often attribute these symptoms to possible medication side effects or describe it as a broken body thermostat, leaving members to navigate the unpredictable swings between needing heavy blankets and changing sweat-soaked clothes multiple times a day.

I have RA and Fibromyalgia also and my body thermostat is broken as my doctor says. I am sweating then freezing the sweating then freezing. I sit with a heavy robe, fuzzy socks, and two blankets and still I'll feel cold while everyone else in the house is comfortable. I am not on methotrexate and I am not going through menopause it is a symptom of fibromyalgia or could be my immune system no one knows the cause but I've been like this all the years that I've been sick.

Am the same as you, MrsG, hate it with a passion. Sometimes I feel like fainting. Had this before RA.

@A myRAteam Member so different than me, it makes no difference if I am in hot or cold Temps, I will just break out sweating for no reason. It gets so bad I can't blow dry my hair, or wear makeup!!

Some days I'm just cold and must put on a robe over my clothes. Then you'll get too warm and must disrobe quickly. Sometimes I run a low grade fever. I wish I could totally recognize a pattern to determine if this has anything to do with Methotrexate. However, I've learned that it's extremely existential and necessary to increase the intake of water to flush my system properly after Methotrexate. I would settle for (if necessary) diarrhea versus severe constipation!
