Members shared their experiences with cannabis oil for rheumatoid arthritis symptoms, with several noting that CBD oil (legal in all 50 states) and topical creams high in CBD provided noticeable pain relief and improved mobility without psychoactive effects. Many community members described practical options including CBD creams for immediate relief in hands and joints, tinctures for systemic pain management, and products available in states where cannabis is fully legal, with some emphasizing that serious pain relief may require a small amount of THC alongside CBD. A recurring theme was cautious optimism about cannabis as a more natural alternative to prescription medications, with members exchanging product recommendations, dosing advice, and encouragement to try topical creams as a starting point.

I live in Oregon where cannabis is legal. There are two cannabis products that provide relief for RA. The topical cream provides immediate relief for me in my knuckles and hands. It's high in CBD and low in THC, so I don't get high from it, but there is a definite improvement in the level of pain and mobility that I experience. It really does work. The other option is a CBD (cannabidiol) tincture. You still won't get high, but dosing a little trickier and the positive effects are harding to gauge. The tinctures need more research before they're truly effective.

I'd recommend the cream as a good starting point. Good luck.

There's a cannabis oil that is legal in all 50 states- It is called CBD oil and is made from industrial hemp. There's no THC in it, so it won't alter your consciousness. It is distributed by Hampshire Labs
Their phone # is (Phone number can only be seen by the question and answer creators). I've ordered a bottle, and am waiting for it to come in the mail... I'll try it and let everyone know if it works! I was going to ask the rheumatologist, but I only see her once every 3 months- if it works, maybe I can get off some of the drugs I'm now on... I've put on 20 lbs, and still gaining!!

Yes, it can help a lot if you get the right stuff and use it in the right way. You do want something high in CBD but you do need some level of THC if you are trying to relieve serious pain. I live in Colorado and they sell almost anything you can imagine. Infused candy, tea, creams, patches, flavored oils and the list goes on and on. There are a lot of people that still frown upon it but it is much safer and in a lot of cases more effective than prescription pain medication.

CBD or cannabidiol, is the NON psycho-active part of the plant, where THC is what gives a person the "high" they may be looking for.

CBD is legal to purchase in all 50 states. I just got a bottle and my husband has tried it but only two days now....once I'm fully offv Percocet I might try it.

Also from what I have read, CBD oil does NOT show in a urine test.
