It isn't an easy process but I would suggest you get professional council.. I have been denied twice for both my State Retirement disability and my Social Security. This is not unusual at all but it is very stressful. My husband and I were avid savers. We were blessed to have our home paid off, but to be without my income for the past two years, it has been stressful. Good luck and don't give up.
I have not applied. I do know that it is a long process. Sorry I can't be of help.
Applied online was advised by Social Security office prior to filing would require off work 6 months. This to ensure you don't want to return to work. I left job Wednesday filed Friday. 3 months later Social Security set up medical exam. 2 month after that contacted approved would start the 7th month. Social Security can answer any questions you might have. Very difficult to go so long. I did print out application then login to complete online.
I'm not sure about you still working. I wasn't able to work when I applied. This is where an attorney can advise you.
I am retired. That means no work, no pay and tired again! I get a monthly SS check. It doesn't cover the cost of my medications. I live on my savings, which are rapidly shrinking. Will I make it to the day where I have to chose between drugs or food?
