I Have Had Constant Fever/chills/ Fever /chills Alternating I Get Them As Much As 3X An Hour To Once Every Hour .

am not sure what to do about this fever-chills-fever all the time. My body just wont regulate its temperature. It seems to have started with the mtx but I am seeing my regular doc tomorrow for a possible sinus infection and sore throat. This has been going on for the last month or so and seems to be getting worse

I agree with Dennis. Are you taking extra folic acid to help this?

My RA doctor usually prescribes a Z-pack (azithromiacin). It's a 5 or 7 day pill pack. My GP has prescribed Cephalexin in the past, but that takes too long and I usually end up getting a second round when I take that med. Everyone is different so it depends on how bad your condition is and what will work best for you. Methotrexate gave me asthma so when I get a sinus infection, it usually turns into a cold and it's hard to kick! I know what you are going through...sorry about that....I wish you well! Hot chicken noodle soup helps!

Number 1 thing to take daily is 40 mg of Zinc since I started taking that when they first discovered the RA in me, I have hardly been sick. No colds/flush. They are now requiring that we take at least 1 gram a day to help starve off cold sores and sores in your mouth from the drugs we are on. I stopped taking the zinc and folic acid and I ended up getting really sick. I don't plan on doing something so stupid again

Could be your RA, not the meds. I always run a temp of 99 or 100. But if you are sick that could be why as well. Hope you get some answers and feel better

@A myRAteam Member I have asthma to begin with and my rheum still kept me on MTX. I asked for leflunomide but he said no.
