I would see a neurosurgeon. They specialize in the spine, nerves in the neck and back. It sounds like you have compression issues. If you haven't had an MRI done gave your PCP or Rheu order you one as the neurosurgeon will need that for your appointment. I had neck surgery for degenerative discs and the surgeon told me flat out- oh you have arthritis in there. For me the surgery was worth doing to get the pressure off of my spinal cord. Any long term pressure can be permanent and detrimental. Hope this helps you.

Hi there,Yes! Please tell your rheumatologist and have your symptoms checked out. Neuro symptoms are nothing to sniff at. People with RA can have cervical spine issues with instability which is serious. I recently had my neck looked at because I've been having increased pain there as well. The peace of mind for me now that I know I'm okay is huge. Good luck and sending lots of good thoughts your way :)

I am excited about the possibility of not having that pain anymore .. Maybe if that gets taken away then I will be better able to deal with my joint pain
