Overview
Feldene is a prescription drug approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to relieve the signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis. Feldene may be also referred to by its drug name, piroxicam.

Feldene is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Feldene is believed to work by reducing pain and inflammation caused by rheumatoid arthritis.

How do I take it?
Feldene is generally taken orally once or twice per day. It is recommended to use the lowest dose necessary to alleviate symptoms.

Feldene comes in the form of an oral capsule.

Side effects
The FDA-approved label for Feldene lists common side effects including nausea, abdominal pain, upset stomach, constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, rash, ringing in the ears, abnormal liver function tests, and urination problems.

Rare but serious side effects listed for Feldene include heart attack, stroke, gastrointestinal bleeding, skin reactions, allergic reactions, and kidney problems.
