Diagnosis and cost.

Diagnosis and cost.

Been dealing with symptoms for two years. Been to my family doctor several times who referred me to a rheumatologist. Took months to get in. Finally did and I am not in a flair. She runs blood work and xrays. Asks what gives me relief - only steroids. A week later appointment she rudely says she can’t help me since NSAIDS don’t help she doesn’t think it’s RA. I ask should I make an appointment the next time I have an episode of pain and inflammation? She states No, she can’t help me, call my… read more

Elderberry Syrup

Elderberry Syrup

I have several friends who use elderberry syrup to boost immunity throughout the cold and flu season and they swear that they never get sick while using it. I read somewhere that it may not be good to use it when you have an autoimmune disease because it ramps up the immune system too much. I am confused, since we do use flu shots to boost immunity. Can anyone clear this up?

Has anyone experienced leg tremors? If so, was it a symptom of RA?

I recently started experiencing tremors in my left leg. They only occur when I’m walking or starting to stand up, and they last for about 5-10 seconds. They seem to be happening with increased frequency (about 10-20 times a day now). Has anyone experienced this? If so, what was the cause? RA or something else?

Anyone ever had a bone fracture while on biologics (or other RA meds)?

I suffered a fracture in my ankle on a very bad sprain about 6+ weeks ago, and it's not healing too quickly. I'm wondering if the biologic (Humira) I'm taking could be either (a) slowing the healing process, or worse (b) opening me up to an infection in the fracture area... My fractured foot does get very red at times, and is very warm to the touch. But when I skipped a week of my Humira a couple of weeks ago, it seemed to finally turn the… read more
