It’s been a hard road after coming off of hospice and muscle atrophy. I’m almost ready to do a transfer, but I have to see the spine specialist at the end of the month.. it’s my neck now. I would say stage four or stage 5RI would say stage four or stage 5 RA is what I haveA is what I have. I would just be interested in someone else in a similar situation so I could converse with them and see how they manage. Thank you.

Members responded to someone who has been bed-ridden for four years with advanced RA and a chronically dislocated hip, sharing their own experiences with severe joint damage, bone spurs, and fusion. Several members described similar struggles, including spinal fusions, foot surgeries with cadaver bone, and being told they were not candidates for joint replacement, with one member finding some relief from gel injections in their knee. A recurring theme was the emotional weight of these challenges balanced with a fierce determination to keep fighting, along with warm encouragement to stay connected and support one another.

That sounds like an incredible amount on surgery. At some point, I think I will need to have some surgeries. I have so much stuff going on and it would probably be pointless to go into it all. We have to be strong you hang in there you’ll see me around so let’s keep in touch. Thank you for your response.

Lindsay,
I have had 8 fusions in my feet one in my left shoulder. They told me that I will not be able to move my toes. I have numbness in my great toes but I can move it at times
The fusion did not take in my left foot so I have cadaver bone.

I am going to be the same situation as you it sounds like. My body has become like a demolition site.! I know all about the snap crackling and popping. At one point I was hoping for a hip replacement, but the surgeon said my hip is too far damaged and I’m not a candidate for surgery.. I took it very hard. What can you do but keep on fighting.. quitting is not an option. Take care of my friend.

I kept having problems with my neck and back. MRI said that I had bone spurs from my neck to my tailbone. My neck has fused it self in two places. My body is eat up with bone spurs. There is nothing to do except take one day at a time. My body is like a rice crispy treat. Every time I move something snaps, crackles and pops.
Hugs to all
