Yes, chills can absolutely be part of an RA flare! Many myRAteam members have described flu-like feelings at the start of a flare, which can include chills alongside other symptoms.

During a flare, some common systemic symptoms include:

- Low-grade fever (which can bring on chills)
- Deep bone aches
- Extreme fatigue
- A general feeling of being unwell, like coming down with something One myRAteam member described the onset of a flare as feeling like "serious fatigue, low-grade fever, and increased aching joints ... like I'm coming down with something." That kind of fever and chills combo is very real and recognized.

It's worth mentioning these symptoms to your rheumatologist, especially if the chills are intense or accompanied by a higher fever, as that could signal something that needs attention beyond the flare itself.
