Members shared personal experiences trying to tell the difference between RA and lupus flares, with the conversation centering on how flares can feel different for everyone. Several members described their RA flares as tingling, pin-prick sensations, or stabbing pain in the fingers, toes, wrists, and legs, with one member noting that methotrexate injections helped ease symptoms within 24 hours. A recurring theme was the emotional weight of living with constant pain, and members found comfort in leaning on faith, family, and the support of this community to get through each day.

I can only provide answers based on my rheumatoid arthritis experience. I have flares that can be similar to tingling or the flares can feel like pin sticks.

These issues appear in my toes, fingers or in my wrists a few days before the injection of methotrexate has been taken. In many cases it only takes about 24-hours after the injection then I am feeling back to normal once again.
