Have you had good results with infusions for biologics?
Many people with RA have found success with biologic infusions. One myRAteam member shared, "I am so thankful the infusions are giving me my life back." Another member noted that while "the infusions take a while to work," it took about two months to really kick in for them.
The timeline for seeing results varies by medication. Actemra typically shows effects within four to eight weeks, which is shorter than other infused biologics. Orencia may show improvements within three months, continuing throughout the first year. Rituxan usually takes three months or more before you notice improvements, but the effects can last six to 12 months or longer.
One member who was initially "resistant and scared of infusions" shared they've been on Orencia "on and off for years. It works well, and I have no side effects from it."
Results can vary from person to person, and it may take time to find the right biologic for you. The infusion process itself is relatively painless, usually experienced only as a pinprick when the needle is inserted.
