Has anyone gotten the SetPoint System implant yet?

The SetPoint System just received FDA approval recently, and the rollout is still in early stages. The company plans to make it available in select U.S. cities in 2025, with wider availability expected in 2026.

Since it's so new, you likely won't find many people who have received it yet. The clinical trials included 242 people with RA, and their experiences showed promising results - nearly half achieved low disease activity or remission after 12 months.

How hard is it to get?

Right now, availability is limited since it's just launching. To be considered for the SetPoint System, you would need to:

- Have moderate-to-severe RA
- Have not responded well to at least one biologic or JAK inhibitor
- Talk with your rheumatologist about whether you're a good candidate

The device is placed during an outpatient procedure through a small incision in the neck. If you're interested, your best bet is to ask your rheumatologist about it and whether they know of any centers offering it in your area.

Keep in mind this is a surgical procedure with typical risks like pain or infection at the implant site, so it's worth having a thorough discussion with your doctor about whether it's right for you.
