Thank you. I appreciate your answer. That's what I've been told but I guess I needed to be sure the diagnosis was correct.

Yes. I have both. I go for a bone density test every 6 months. I have shrunk 2.5 inches in height in the last 2 years. It’s a thing for sure. Your fingers and toes will be affected along with your height at first.

Yes. the rheumatologist said I have both, but I sometimes wonder. I don't have any painful joints. It makes me think she could be wrong about the RA but how do I tell her that? I always wonder if I really need to take the hydroxychloroquine. I once asked her if I could quite the hydroxy, but she said I might have a flare. I don't feel I have RA flares. I have neuropathy flares. I also have peripheral neuropathy and that I definitely have pain with. I have had neuropathy since 2017. It wasn't as bad then as it is now. Afraid to quit the hydroxy because of worrying about flares or joint pain starting.

Yes, crooked joint at the tip of the finger is OA, but it can be tricky. U can have both OA and RA.

Hmmm... I have a fractured bone in my foot (pain started about 2 weeks ago and wasn't getting better). My doctor suspects osteoporosis (I'm 49 years old.) I have a new rheumatologist so says I don't have RA, although my right hand has been deformed for about 20 years and of course I have symptoms and was diagnosed 20 years ago after many tests and was treated with prednisone and cortisone shots.

Your comments are giving me more to think about and question about my diagnosis. Thank you.
