Yes! I feel like it's a very isolating disease with not being able to get out a lot to socialize! People look at you & think you look fine or you're just being lazy & think that Rheumatoid Arthritis is just arthritis! Even my husband was very frustrated with me for a while because it took him time to really learn about & understand this disease, but now he is super supportive & feels helpless because he can't fix it for me! It has really been life altering but I'm really glad to have this support group! You are not alone!🙂❤️
Yes! It's hard to go and do things when we feel so bad. I started a new medication and praying it helps.
Feeling lonely after an RA diagnosis is very common. Many myRAteam members express feeling isolated, especially when others don't understand their experiences. It can be particularly challenging when symptoms aren't always visible to others, making it harder for them to understand what you're going through.

Yes, that feeling of loneliness is very common after diagnosis. When symptoms aren’t visible, it can be really hard when people don’t understand or believe what you’re going through. That can make everything feel even heavier.
Many people find it helps to connect with support groups where others have lived experience with RA. Hearing similar stories can be validating and remind you that you’re not imagining things or overreacting. I follow a few arthritis-focused communities online, including Antardhwani (https://www.antardhwani.org/), where they share educational content from rheumatologists and patient experiences. Spaces like that can sometimes help you feel less alone.
