I would love to have my husband have access to a group like this or articles so he can better understand this disease and or the journey?? Any ideas?
Thanks y'all

Thank you for your response. For me sometimes it would be easier to have something he can relate too as a spouse instead of me or a Dr just telling him. This disease is overwhelming for me at times so to have any resources for him I feel would help him have a "different " avenue to help understand..❤️

That's not a silly question at all! Many members have found success bringing their spouses to doctor's appointments so the rheumatologist can explain things directly. One effective approach is having your healthcare provider help explain the real impact of RA symptoms to help build understanding.

That's not a silly question at all! Many members have found success bringing their spouses to doctor's appointments so the rheumatologist can explain things directly. One effective approach is having your healthcare provider help explain the real impact of RA symptoms to help build understanding.

You can also share educational materials with your spouse - many rheumatologist offices have helpful brochures and resources specifically designed for family members to better understand RA. Your healthcare team may offer additional support resources that extend beyond your medical appointments, including health education classes and support services that welcome family members. These can be great opportunities for spouses to learn more and connect with others in similar situations.

Remember that it's normal for loved ones to take time to fully understand RA's impact. Being patient while providing them with accurate information and resources can help build their awareness and empathy over time.

Warriors,
Just a quick update. I did get the opportunity to bring Deb's idea to Lisa, just yesterday. Lisa loved the idea and will be reaching out to Deb today.
Suggestions for info that would help your loved ones understand RA better are welcome!
Thanks to all of you.

Same my husband says he understands but he doesn’t he is very supportive but definitely struggles and feels helpless he has been to my pain doctor which helped but not my rheumatologist yet his work schedule isn’t very flexible at all but I’m hoping one day he can take a day off and talk to the rheumatologist as well so he can tell her how much pain I’m in and what experiences as well at home seeing me like this breaks his heart. Even my daughter who’s only 13 only knows her mom as being sick all of the time is just sad because I can’t explain it to her
