I was at Physical Therapy yesterday, and my left ring finger started going numb. I didn't look at it for awhile, because we all get random numbness with RA. When I did look, it had turned completely white. Just to the first knuckle, a distinct line between the white and my normal skin color. It went back to normal after about 40 minutes. Never had that happen before. What is that? Pic is not my finger, but exactly what it looked like.
When my fingers are really cold, they turn white, then they turn red and then really blue and it’s called Raynaud’s syndrome. The best thing to do is keep them warm. Be sure and tell you Rheumy.
This happens to me frequently. It just resolves itself after awhile. Please be careful when you are out in the cold. You do need to discuss this with your physician.
It sounds like you're experiencing some concerning symptoms. While I can't diagnose you, these symptoms could be related to Raynaud's phenomenon, which is associated with rheumatoid arthritis.
