Doctor said it is a stye and just use hot compresses. It will be a week on Wednesday. Luckily, I have an eye dr. appointment on Thursday.

I thought mine were styes in the beginning until the 2nd day it was bloodshot red and the light was bothering me. I've had them 3 to 4 times in the last 5 years. My optometrist just shrugged it off but I can't get a dr. appointment when it happens. I am going to make an appointment with St. Luke's it will probably take a few months to get scheduled. I hope yours are just styes

It's not uncommon for individuals with RA to experience various eye problems, although styes are not specifically mentioned in the context provided. Styes are usually caused by bacterial infections in the eyelid glands. While RA is known to affect the eyes in different ways, such as dry eye syndrome, scleritis, or uveitis, it's important to consult with your healthcare provider to determine if there's a direct link or if the styes are coincidental. They can help you find the right treatment and determine if there's any connection to your RA.
