Members shared mixed experiences with marijuana and CBD products for rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia pain, with some finding significant relief through topical rubs, gummies, and gel caps, while others reported minimal pain relief despite improvements in sleep and relaxation. Several members emphasized the distinction between THC and CBD, noting that CBD alone has not been clinically proven strong enough for RA management, and stressed the critical importance of working with a rheumatologist for prescription-strength treatment rather than relying solely on over-the-counter or cannabis products. A recurring theme was the highly individual nature of cannabis response, the value of topical applications over smoking, and the understanding that while cannabis may provide symptom relief for some, it cannot replace proper medical management of RA to prevent joint damage and disease progression.

Paula, Totally Agree that you do need a rheumatoglist to assist in the management of RA-- No Doubt at all. OTC will not assist to prevent all the swelling and joint displacement with RA.

I have used a homemade marijuana rub for years. My sister makes mine for me. And it makes a world of difference on my pain. I started using marijuana when I was 14 for migraine headaches it was introduced to me and my parents were able to get it for me it was the only thing that would help my nauseousness. As I've gotten older and I have got ra I've learned the values of the CBD and what they're actually doing for me. And I will swear by it.
