So after 13 years of methotrexate and now Humira my poor hair is taking the toll.

I normally dye my hair every six weeks or so. The past 3 or 4 months my hair has become considerably thinner and it really needs colouring, far too much grey for my liking. Has anyone noticed if colouring it with permanent dye will cause it to fall out even quicker?

I do wish we didn’t have to put up with this rubbish on top of all the pain and everything else.

Have a good day everyone

Carol2015, yes it’s such a worry isn’t it. I’ve bought the stuff to do mine and I’m too scared to use it. Don’t want to end up looking like Dobby, out of Harry Potter lol

Have you considered a wig? I have a friend who’s been wearing a nice full wig for years because of thinning fine hair. It’s gorgeous and it’s a style much like she wore before her hair started thinning. In fact, as long as we’ve been friends @ least 30 years, I only recently found it was a wig, say the past 10 years or so. I considered it for myself following CoVid when my hair thinned and right before I started taking Hydroxychloraquine and leflunimide combo for my RA. Folic acid was also prescribed with these drugs and my hair has come back in thick, course AND wavy in the back. Don’t know if it’s due to the folic acid regimen or the after effects of CoVid. But it’s better. Ask your dr about folic acid for yourself. Best of luck.

I have had the same issue. Doc said mine is probably from the hydroxychloriquine. I am thinking of putting some color in mine. I haven't colored since covid started. I just let it go gray. now I look like a ghost. But I worry about losing more hair.
