Are degenerative discs and bulging discs throughout my spine and neck, common with RA?

I have had RA for 20 years. I also have degenerative disc disease and had two surgeries (one neck, one lower back) for ruptured discs and fusion with metal rods and plates. My surgeon said I was riddled with bone spurs all through my spine, but that ALL was due to osteoarthritis, not RA
