Members shared valuable solutions for dealing with tender, painful feet, with many finding relief through supportive footwear like Brooks running shoes, SAS Duo sandals with adjustable velcro straps in wide widths, and deep soft-heeled trainers that provided instant comfort. Several members emphasized that they could no longer walk barefoot due to pain and that investing in quality, lightweight shoes made a significant difference in daily mobility and comfort. A recurring theme was the importance of consulting with a rheumatologist to identify underlying causes like arthritis while also taking immediate action through proper footwear and compression socks to manage symptoms.

In addition to the running shoes I highly recommend SAS shoes. I have 5 pairs of their Duo sandal. Not cheap, but well made and really comfortable.

Yes I bought a pair of brooks and it has definitely helped. I can no longer walk barefoot due to the pain.

thank you. I see my RA in a couple of weeks. I will bring it up to him and see if he can offer a good solution. I saw other posts lower down about similar issues, and one suggested compression socks. I will try those as well.

I had my appointment with my RA last week. I told him about my foot pain. He did some xrays. Results - I have arthritis in my big toe on my left foot. that toe has bothered me for a few years now, on and off. I had originally tested for gout and diabetes, which were both thankfully negative....

I think wearing the sandals and the orthopedic sneakers in a double wide width really helped with the foot pain. I don't feel it as much as I was.

DesertRose,

I ordered the Nudu sandals in white and navy. they were a little spendy, but in my opinion, worth every cent. they are so comfortable, and cute too.
