Humira... here is the novel I wrote in December.

Methotrexate took forever to start working for me and then it just kind of stopped after 2 years. My rheumatologist convinced me to try Humira. I was in a lot of pain and could not put much weight on my feet and decided to try the Humira (in the old pens with bigger needles that hurt like hell during injection). I took the jab in my thigh with Humira, gritted my teeth (the new pens do not hurt now, thinner needles are used but the old one hurt), then on that first day I laid in my bed for 20 minutes or so. I prop myself up on bed and prepare to use my grandfather's cane that my mother sent me to support myself when I walk (sigh). Then I hold my breath and put weight on a foot, huh something is wrong!?!? It did not hurt! I got lucky, Humira started working for me on day 1. I had to get pneumonia shots first before I could start the stuff but it was worth it. Just make sure to ask your Rx writer about the discount programs available. The manufacturers of most of these things have reference points on the websites because they are federally sponsored to reimburse your cost (Humira costs me $5 after I had found a discount via a header link in humira.com and I know there is also something similar in enbrel.com but I have never used Enbrel).
