Moringa?

A myRAteam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone tried the suppliment "moringa" whether in a tea, capsule or powder added to a smoothie? I'm looking for non-pharmacy items to supplement before I'm put on something stronger.

Members responded to a question about trying moringa supplements for rheumatoid arthritis, with most having never heard of it before but expressing curiosity and willingness to research it further. Several members shared practical experiences, including one who mixes moringa with turmeric and ginger into honey balls and reported reduced hand swelling and pain after a week, while others found it ineffective or unpleasant tasting, and some preferred to stick with biologics. A recurring theme was the strong community emphasis on safety first, with multiple members advising others to consult doctors and pharmacists before trying moringa due to potential medication interactions, especially with blood pressure drugs.

@SuzieZ. TY for posting the link and advice. I am an RN and don't take any medications that I think it might have interactions with. I will include it with the discussion of the meds and supplements I'm taking when I see my Rheumy for the first time. So far, so good, but won't comment on my results until after I've been on it a while longer. As a side note, I've also started a magnesium supplement which i take at bedtime. (It can help with sleep) .

I had not heard of this either. So I did some research the one common comment was that if you are taking any other medication to be sure to discuss it with your doctor before taking. With the list of things it is supposed to help blood pressure would be the biggest concern, I could see, if you are on medication for this it could cause problems.
So, please take care.

I have used Moringa powder and Turmeric, but not on a regular basis. Not really noticing a difference. Prefer the harder biologics.

I mix these three together with honey and then roll it into balls. I take 1 every morning on an empty stomach
