Those taking Enbrel what are you taking with it? Doctor took me off of Metatextrate after cat scan of chest showed significant scarring of lungs. Tried Sulfasalazine but made me nauseated tired and gave me heart palpitations. Hands and feet now swollen and hurt. THANKS

I tried them all. The nausea and vomiting destroyed my health.

I’m in the same situation as Tiena. I would benefit from having an “add on,” but I have too many side effects with the DMARDs. And Enbrel is working enough to where I just put up with the flares and pain. Sulfasalazine was the worst one. I also tried Arava and Methotrexate.

Currently, in addition to Enbrel, I take an NSAID (Etodolac) at the first sign of a flare.

My doctor had me on Methotrexate along with Folic Acid to avoid the side effects from the Methotrexate. The Methotrexate did not work for me. I started taking Turmeric the pain was better. I went to a new doctor and he added Glucosamine, and Celecoxib which made me feel much better. I have advance osteoarthritis in my hands and feet. My hip also started giving me issues. Taking the Turmeric, Glucosamine, and Celecoxib has relieved my discomfort to a point I can live with for now.

Well sorry to be so long....took awhile to get straighted out.. first the swelling was from a new nail wraps I tried by Embrace your nails....there is adhesive in them and must have cause the swelling. as soon as I stopped the swelling went down and next day gone. Be careful...Now i spend the extra on Color Street...tricky to put on becasue they are really thin but noould problem with them. Now to the pain. Started on Kevzara 3 weeks ago ...can feel the difference already. for the extra pain I now can take my celebrex.. I had to wait till i was off of predisone as my RA said no celebrex with the predisone. Hopefully next week my 3rd shot will get rid of the celebrex also...thanks for your thoughts...

Thank you all for your answers will look at them before I go to the RA doc tomororrow. i think 70 percent is stiffness and the rest pain. once I take a celebrex I can at least move a little. I know she is going to want me to go off enbrel and try Humaria which I am not really crazy about. plus just refilled my Enbrel and you all know how expensive that is I would think insurance co will say no to anything right now.
