CAN IT?

CHRONIC. DEGENERATIVE It consumes. Slowly. Eventually. It consumes. Our energy. Our bodies. Our minds. And on very very bad days, it even takes our desire to live, because our life as we once knew it, no longer exists. But there is something inside each one of us that is our essence, the energy of our existence, our strength, our will, our wisdom, and it cannot take that.

Members rallied around a deeply personal reflection on living with chronic degenerative disease, affirming that while illness may drain energy and reshape daily life, it cannot claim one's core spirit, faith, or will to keep going. Several members shared stories of resilience, including surviving traumatic accidents, overcoming PTSD after decades, and finding strength through prayer, family, and community support even amid profound losses like the deaths of spouses and adult children. A recurring theme was the power of choice—refusing to surrender, staying engaged with treatment, leaning on faith and loved ones, and actively seeking knowledge and practical strategies to fight back every single day.

Thanks for sharing. I have a bible verse on the wall in my office. John 1:5 "The light shines in the darkness & the DARKNESS can never extinguish it." Whatever your "Darkness" is, you are the light.

I have degenerative disc , I like to reach for an ice pack for 20 min. and lay down.

Then I will sit in a supportive chair wit a cushion for my spine.

I have put a lift 4 inch lift under the chair and the couch.

Makes it so much easier to get up from where I am sitting.
