Remicade
Do you have to take methotrexate with Remicade in order for Remicade to work effectively? I do not do well with methotrexate.
I’m wondering the same thing. I started methotrexate a month and a half ago and had my first two Remicade infusions. I think the methotrexate is messing with my stomach and I don’t really want to take it. I was on Remicade 14 years ago without methotrexate and it worked great for about 5 years.
Methotrexate boosts the biologics and is usually prescribed with them. Arava (leflunomide) can be an alternative, but I don't know if it has the same effect. You could google it. Good luck.
