I wanted to ask who is taking folic acid, prednisone and methotrexate. And what are your side effects. Really like some feed back before I start. Mahalo and best wishes for all of you ❤️ with this illness.

Humara and an Prednisone with folic acid. I haven't had any side affects from any except for the Prednisone they made me gain almost fifteen pounds. In November when I was taken off of my meds it in hurt so bad that some days I took six of them. I know I shouldn't have
I am taking all three. The folic acid protects against side effects of methotrexate. Methotrexate is considered the "gold standard" of RA treatment. It usually help a lot. Prednisone is good for flares, but you should strive for a low dose when you can manage.
I haven’t had any side effects yet. I’ve been on methotrexate and folic acid for about 8 months. I am taking a steroid right now because of a flare up. It has helped alot
Methotrexate can deplete the body of folic acid so that's why it is recommended to take folic acid on the days that you don't take the methotrexate.
