Members came together over shared struggles with joint pain in feet, wrists, elbows, and hands, particularly during cold weather and flare-ups, offering a wealth of practical strategies that have helped them manage daily mobility challenges. Several members recommended heat-based solutions including Epsom salt baths, microwave mitts, heating pads, hand warmers, hot wax baths, and topical arthritis gels, along with supportive tools like hand and wrist braces, ace wraps, compression gloves, and quality shoes such as Birkenstocks or Mephistos rotated daily. A recurring theme was the importance of keeping joints warm, elevating feet, doing gentle exercises like wrist and ankle rotations, using contrast bathing, and listening to your body to prevent further stress on already painful areas.

Get a couple of pairs of good shoes and alternate between your shoes daily Elevate your feet - lay back and rise your legs and feet up a wall 5 minutes at least. Use if you can a hot wax bath for your feet-obviousky do one foot at a time. Contrast bathing with Epsom salts helps too, 5 minutes cold then 3 minutes warm repeat 3x This is also useful for your hands/wrists.
Shoes I use Birkenstocks and Mephistos
Self massage on hands and feet helps as well

I take Epsom salt baths, microwave hand mitts, heating pad, hand braces, hand warmers and every topical pain reliever they make. At night I wrap my feet in a soft blanket before crawling in bed.

I too have sore ankles and feet, a bit of pain in my toes. Even after carpal tunnel surgery on both wrists I have pain . I need to wear my gloves more that help some, they have fingers out so easier to do things with them on. Wish you all a good weekend. Epsilon salts baths help me some too.

Wow, I think we all feel the same. Any joint I put stress on hurts, such shoulders, elbows, wrists, knees and ankles. In addition to RA medications I use heat and liberal amounts of topical arthritis gel. Unfortunately during flare ups in this cool weather you have to baby your hands and elbows even more. If possible try using an ace wrap to support them since they take more stress. Sincerely, Mary
