I usually dont take steroids. I have, have have to be hurting. My doctor does the trapping. Like 5 for the first and second day. 4 for 5 days and so forth. When I had my last surgery i had a really bad flare. And it do any thing for me. But i do not take them on a regular basis.

I have always been given a 7 day course and decrease daily. Don't like bc I end up getting another flair somewhere else. Just work through it with hot and cold packs. Good luck

I was on steroids off and on for about 20 years. When I first started in the '80s I was taking about 50 mg daily and then I got to a point that it didn't really do anything for me anymore and like everybody said I they were slowly reduced. I no longer take them I stop taking them in about 2010. And I do not tend to go back on them. I got a lot of side effects I have very brittle bones I now take folic acid daily and D3 daily to help with that. But I've had a lot of issues because of brittal bones. Broke my femur twice so much for being the strongest bone in the body. But that's another story.

They are rough on your body...have to weigh out the side affect and pain level. Like I said do the 7 day Pac only when necessary

I have been given a 7 day pack where it decreases each day. I rarely do it because I don't like them.
