Biologic Injections
My RA is in remission since few years. So it’s kind of medication holiday for me expect for pain killers when required. I met a new Rheumatologist who suggests biologic treatment even if the desease is in remission. He says that the desease still may be active even if signs of it appears to be gone. Inflammation and joint damage may continue even in the absence of pain and swelling. So he proposed reducing medication rather than stopping completely. I am confused about it. Did you ever have a high school biology class in which you put a frog into room temperature water and if you raise the water temperature slow enough to boiling the frog never jumps out and is content to be boiled to death?
I would imagine they don’t do that experiment in hugh school biology class anymore as there would be a lawsuit.
While it was never taught to the class, the reason the frog never jumped out of the boiling water is because it was unable to “re-think“ it’s position.

this disease is with you all the time , I don't get much pain or swelling only when I over do it ,so keep with the meds if you can , i have a friend who came off his meds altogether 6 months ago he felt ok for a couple of months but now not so good he's stating to get pain and stiffness again , good luck ith it
