HAS ANYONE USED MELOXICAM FOR INFLAMMATION AND PAIN? My Doctor Just Prescribed It For Me And I’m A Bit Nervous Because Of Side Effects.

I have taken Meloxicam for a variety of inflammatory issues. First I learned, don't expect relief right away. It may take a week or so to notice. Another thing I noticed is the effect wasn't obvious. After over 2 months, I didn't feel I was getting much relief. So dr took me off it. Within 2 days pain came on with a vengeance! Apparently the Meloxicam WAS helping a little. However, I found it really to not be any more effective than taking 800mg Ibuprofen 3-4 times a day. As for side effects, didn't get any...although I have a high tolerance to NSAIDS. I've heard from others it helps greatly. So basically, like any med, it may affect everyone differently. For me it didn't help. However, if you don't have sensitivity to NSAIDS, I'd say give it a try. In terms of many prescription NSAIDS and side effects, Meloxicam is on the lower end. Its benefit may out weigh the risks for some people. Good luck!!

Yes, I was on it for many years. It DID work when I was on it to dull the pain but as with all drugs in that class, it can be harmful used over a long period of time. When one of my blood tests came back saying that my kidneys weren’t functioning at 100% capacity, I said enough of this and went off it.
Aleve has a certain amount of it in it ( naproxen)
It also caused a dull ache in my abdomen, so make sure you drink plenty of water, as with all medications.
I know I don’t drink enough water and I have to start doing that! Orders to me! 😊
Hope that helps.

I’ve taken it but I have to say that all meds I’ve taken they helped for a while but then i built up a resistance to them. So my experience doesn’t help you. I hope it does help you.
