Can you take a sulfur drug with SLE?

I had to do a colonoscopy and got a bad flare after the procedure. Had diarrhea for 5 days. It was horrible! Then I read the box on the bowl prep kit: sodium sulfate, potassium sulfate and maganesium sulfate. Flare lasted 2 weeks . Can we take a sulphur drug???

Many people are allergic to sulfa drugs. It is a very common allergen.

I have been on sulfaziazine for 2 years. It is part of my RA meds. I also take plaquinil and have started on my third biologic. I recently started Remicade infusions. Been diagnosed 3 years, but know I have had it a lot longer. Praying the Remicade will finally be the right one.
