So today i was prescribed tramadol. I have never taken it before and was wondering if it helped or what was your experience? Im probably going to start it this weekend in case i have any side effects, but they gave me a 90 day supply with many refills so seems as if they plan on me being on it for a while so im really hoping i hear good things!

Members shared mixed experiences with tramadol for pain management, with several finding it helpful as a mild pain reliever, while others noted concerns about cost, addiction potential, and long-term effects on the liver or kidneys. Some members mentioned alternative medications they tried, such as tramacet, Percocet, and a combination of tramadol with amitriptyline, emphasizing the importance of following doctor's orders and exploring what works best for individual circumstances. A recurring theme was empathy for those struggling to find effective pain relief, especially when other options like NSAIDs or toradol have been exhausted due to side effects or medical restrictions.

I was on Tramadol and Amitriptyline(depression). That was a great combination for me 5 years ago with diet, & pool Therapy. Hope this helps!

I have taken tramadol a few times throughout the years...I found it helpful. I must admit it sounds as though your doc has given you a great deal... ask him his thinking?

I was on tramacet, same drug but Tylenol based
Worked well for pain but in Canada it’s not a covered drug and was costing $200.00 a month....after a while couldn’t afford it so now I’m on Percocet, Tylenol #3 didn’t work
